Month: February 2023
Week 07 – Collaborative Unit
Initial model mapping completed
Substance Painter was used

Week 7: About FMP thesis
This week, according to the thesis topic I want to describe, I searched for references in UAL Library and Google Scholar.
I am mainly looking for articles on 3D character design, and how to more accurately express the character characteristics I want to reflect when creating characters. Therefore, I am still looking for helpful evidence and references for my thesis

Material textures were created for the robotic arm during the week. It was appropriate to use metal as the main material for the robotic arm and I used Arnold’s aiStandardSurface material colour of blue.

Week 6:Collaborative
I have largely completed the entire composition of the characters.
Based on the 2D character design

Week 6: About FMP thesis
Abstract
3D character design is an important technology in computer graphics. It includes modeling, texturing, animation, rendering and blending techniques. The process of 3D character design includes requirements analysis, character creation, texturing, model animation, rendering, and final blending. First of all, the character designer needs to analyze the needs of the characters in the work, and design a character that meets the characteristics of the story according to the requirements of the story and the scene. Then, based on the shape of the character, the modeler needs to use 3D software to create a character model, and then the texture artist will apply the texture to the character model, so that the character model will have a more realistic appearance. Next, the animator creates animations for the character, adding movement to the character to make the character more realistic. Finally, the renderer will mix the character model and animation together to create a complete character with a variety of textures and details. Therefore, 3D character design is a complex technique that requires a combination of techniques to accomplish.
Week 06 – Animate Developments
During the week here I have tried to carry out the complete animation process, building on the existing
Week 06 – Arm Modelling
In week six, I finished creating the forearm and back arm as well as completing the bindings for the wrist section

Week 5:About FMP Thesis
This week I’ve identified a few things, and I’d like to start with the following: 3D character design is a very complex job,
1. Pay attention to the appearance of the character: in particular, the character’s facial expression, body composition and clothing;
2. Focus on the action of the role: design the action to interpret the character of the role, so that the role has more personality;
3. Focus on the background of the character: When designing the background of the character, we should consider the history, career, family background and other information of the character, so as to provide rich content for the character;
4. Consider the function of the character: According to the theme of the game and the function of the character, you can design a more reasonable character;
5. Focus on the performance of the role: the performance of the role should be close to the character of the role, and pay attention to the fluidity of the movement, so that the performance is more realistic.
Week 5:Collaborative Unit
During the week I got a 2D three-view of the figure
I’m going to start taking these 2D pictures of people and representing them in MAYA
