The title I’m currently thinking of is roughly the Art and Science of 3D Character Design: From Character Intrinsics to Technical Innovation.
I’ve raised a few questions that can be discussed and how to dive into the smaller issues under the theme.
- Character design is not only about visual representation, but also about conveying the personality and story of the character. How important are personality and story in character design? Why are these two aspects important to characterisation and audience/player connection?
What do you see as the potential impact of auto-generated expression technology on the development of character design? How might it change the creative process and outcome of character design? - How can these technologies change the way character design is approached and the user experience? How might they create more innovative and immersive character designs?
- How can artificial intelligence and deep learning play a role in character design? How might they provide more creativity and create deeper characters?
- future directions in the field of character design, such as the use of user-generated content and motion capture and physical simulation. What are your thoughts? How will they drive innovation and development in character design?
